I am an upcoming Projects and Programs Manager with 5+ years of practical experience working directly with local communities focusing on comparative community development strategies, capacity building outreach programs, community resource management, environmental resource conservation, community assets mapping, and grassroots project management. For the last 4+ years, I have extensively been part of a team carrying out community engagements, local governments relations, grassroots project implementations and risk management, and team professional growth and development in donor-funded unconditional cash transfer and behavioral economics research. At my current workplace, I’m taking a lead in managing field operations’ fraud risks investigations, including cash theft and bribery issues with the unconditional cash transfer recipients in 7 sub-counties spanning across 5 counties of Kenya. I also actively support the organization with grassroots media coverage hosting as well as being the focal point for field primary intriguing change stories from the unconditional cash transfer beneficiaries. I also manage mid to low level government relations support on behalf of the fraud risks investigations team. This has enabled me to identify and adapt to the most local, indigenous and participatory ways of managing community-based livelihood interventions projects as well as attainment of an understanding of the underlying challenges of illiteracy, perennial poverty and climate change on the overall community resource sustainability, and social livelihood. I am skilled at local community mobilization, participatory research procedures and approaches, local and national networking, environmental impact assessment and auditing, and qualitative/quantitative data collection. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Studies and Community Development (Second Class Honors, Upper Division) from Kenyatta University, and currently pursuing Master of Arts Degree in Project Planning and Management from University of Nairobi. I also hold a Certificate in Youth Leadership Training by the International Youth Fellowship – Kenya and still open to more academic and proficiency skills trainings and development.
